Miss America Triumphs Over Runner-Up's Yodeling

Of the many gifts the Miss America pageant gives our country (ABC was just hoping the ratings dud would deliver the gift of viewers), we can now add to the list: a revived national interest in the art of yodeling ventriloquism.

On Saturday's live broadcast from Las Vegas, emcee Chris Harrison was the perfect man for the job, sailing through the competition of 53 nervous ladies, all exuding maximum charm in minimal clothing.

Great performance. She may have herself a career as a ventriloquist. Sure is nice to look at as well.

Miss Nebraska 2010, now Miss America 2011, was home schooled up to her junior year of high school. She's a Christian who plans to attend Patrick Henry College in Virginia.

Congratulations Ms. Scanlan. It's great to know that you will be an excellent role model for other young girls.
