So Much for Civility in the House

Democrat Compares Republicans to Nazis

In an extraordinary outburst on the House floor, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) invoked the Holocaust to attack Republicans on health care and compared rhetoric on the issue to the work of infamous Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

“They say it's a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels," Cohen said. "You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel. That's the same kind of thing. The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it and you have the Holocaust

He even used the term "blood libel". I'd never heard that term before, until Sarah Palin invented it, and he stole it.

Yup, no hateful rhetoric there. He better hope some nutty Lib doesn't take his words litterally and run over a "Nazi" Republican with his Prius.

It does work for them.

"We Just Witnessed The Media's Test Run To Re-Elect Barack Obama

If Republicans want to know exactly what not to do to win in 2012, then follow advice similar to that offered by David Frum as to why Sarah Palin should "stop talking now" about the false accusations that she was responsible for the Tucson shooting:

"There is no one left in America that would blame her.”
Oh really? Two polls show otherwise.

I previously posted about a CNN poll showing that 35% of all people (including 56% of Democrats and 34% of Independents) believe that Palin has a great deal or moderate amount of responsibility for the shooting. A PPP poll reflects that 26% of all people (including 45% of Democrats and 22% of Independents) believe Palin bears "at least some responsibility" for the shooting."

Talk about big lies being repeated over and over.

And consider this, would either side be happy if Congress and the President went back to being an old boy's club where they just sit back, smoke cigars, agree on everything and spend our taxes.?

Yeah...No hateful rhetoric here either:

Michelle Bachmann:

"This is not symbolic, this is why we were sent here and we will not stop until we repeal a president and put a president in the position of the White House who will repeal this bill, until we repeal the current Senate, put in a Senate that will listen to the American people and repeal this bill," Bachmann said on the House floor Wednesday afternoon.

Bachmann also reprised her criticism of the law as the "crown jewel of socialism."

"Obamacare as we know is the crown jewel of socialism. It is socialized medicine," Bachmann said. "The American people spoke soundly and clearly at the ballot box in November and they said to us, Mr. Speaker, in no uncertain terms, repeal this bill. So today, this body will cast a vote to repeal Obamacare and to those across the United States who think this may be a symbolic act, we have a message for them."

From Wikipedia:

Wikipedia wrote: Professor Israel Jacob Yuval of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem published an article in 1993 that argues that blood libel may have originated in the 12th century from Christian views of Jewish behavior during the First Crusade. Some Jews committed suicide and killed their own children rather than be subjected to forced conversions. Yuval investigated Christian reports of these events and found that they were greatly distorted with claims that if Jews could kill their own children they could also kill Christian children. Yuval rejects the blood libel story as a fantasy of some Christians that was impossible due to the precarious nature of the Jewish minority's existence in Christian Europe.[9][10
