Ellison gives tearful testimony at hearing on Muslims, terro

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Keith Ellison couldn’t fight back the tears.

Telling the story of a Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a Muslim first responder who was killed on Sept. 11, Ellison choked up and his voice broke as he said that Hamdani was smeared by some people after Sept. 11 because of his faith.

“His life should not be identified as just a member of an ethnic group or just a member of a religion,” Ellison said, “but as an American who gave everything for his fellow Americans.”

As he concluded his testimony, Ellison knocked his glasses to wipe away tears, and briefly covered his face with the papers from which he had been reading.

Ellison’s passionate testimony showcased the raw emotion rarely seen on Capitol Hill that the hearings on Islamic radicalization have stirred. Many Muslim groups have protested the hearings, and more than 50 members of Congress signed a letter urging House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King to call off the hearings.

It was disgusting. What has happened to manhood that would make it acceptable for a man to get up in front of the nation and start blubbering? It was embarassing.

Not so. It was the feminization of American men that has caused it.

In that case, you guys need to lobby Congress to stop Agribiz from selling us beef full of female hormones. Although I doubt that explains Glenn Beck.

King's hearings will not accomplish a damn thing - except giving greeting card businesses something to write home about.

It's a waste of time and money - politicians don't solve problems - they talk about them.

It will be propaganda for radical muslims to use against the USA.

bb, its not a waste of time at all, expose the terrorists, terrorism is like a cancer and its growing in the US no matter how you don't want to believe it is, its happening. I am glad king is holding these hearings. Deal with it now, not when its too late. Home grown terrorism is going to be a major problem.
