It would be proper to post at least some kind of link or authority for your comments. We know you profess to know so much but at least give us something to back up your statements.
Since you claim there has not been any verification of voter fraud in Colorado, as RidingHy06 stated, you should read up on Saguache, Colorado, where it has already been shown to have happened.
He is attempting to create a problem where one does not currently exist in order to raise his profile, at a time when there is a dire need for concentrating on improving the economy and increasing employment. In order to accomplish his agenda, he will need to hire additional public employees, create a new computer system, raise fees on businesses, etc. His predecessor was able to operate the SOS with a multimillion dollar surplus which he returned to the state treasury. Gessler on the other hand is attempting to expand his empire, and has requested to keep the surplus for his own office. He has already hired two "communications" experts (PR) for his office.
So let me ask you one question if I may. Do you or do you not think that a Secretary of State should be concerned about making sure the voter rolls of his/her state are accurate?
Excuse the fact that I will be gone for a few hours and won't be able to respond till I get back.
Of course the SOS should ensure accuracy of voter rolls, just as there should be a cure for the common cold. However, that does not mean every possible means to do so. Absent any compelling evidence of serious problems, I am against expanding bureaucracy just to build empires. At a time when the state government is deep financial problems, I do not believe it is appropriate to increase the government bureaucracy on the backs of the taxpayers and increase fees on businesses without compelling evidence of wrongdoing. Gessler is claiming that he believes that there are about 100 instances of voter fraud, although he refuses to turn those names over to law enforcement. There are 3.2 million registered voters in Colorado. So based on his allegation that about .003 % of the voters may be fraudulently registered, he is wanting to expand his bureaucracy and increase his budget. Perhaps he is wanting to keep both of his PR spokesmen busy.
