After spending the last 8 years crying about wars for oil and how war is not the answer, the press seems completely OK with war this time around. Obama sought no approval from Congress, didn't even consult with key members of his own party before launching the attack, and has laid out no clear strategy or mission goals - despite all of this there is no outcry. Hey dimwit, no President since WW2 has asked Congress for permission for this type of action, I am against this but you are such a loser that you won't admit this is the norm. You , I am sure, supported your hero Cheney when we invaded Iraq, just be honest.
Your name-calling is really strengthening your argument Dummy!!!
George Bush got Congress's approval to go to Iraq, but being the Bush and Cheney hater that you are, makes you forget that. Remember Kerry, I voted for it, before I voted against it? Shall I name more of those folks?
Per the Wars Powers Resolution of November 1973, the President only needs to inform the Congress either in writing or in person within 48 hours of committing US Forces. They are allowed a 60 day window with an additional 30 day withdraw period. After that Congress has to give approval. In President Bush's case he got approval for the war before we went there.
President Obama did meet the 48 hour window. He did provide a letter to Congress within the time limit.
We still should not have done a damn thing. Let the other UN countries deal with it.
