CNN Poll: Unfavorable view of tea party on the rise

Washington (CNN) - Nearly half of all Americans have an unfavorable view of the tea party movement, putting it in the same company as the Democratic and Republican parties, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday indicates that 32 percent of the public has a favorable view of the two year old anti-tax movement, which also calls for less government spending and a more limited role for the federal government in our lives. The 32 percent favorable rating is down five points from December.

Forty-seven percent of people questioned say they have an unfavorable view of the tea party, up four points from December and an increase of 21 points from January 2010. That 47 percent is virtually identical to the 48 percent unfavorable ratings for both the Democratic party and the Republican party in the same poll.

"This is the first time that a CNN poll has shown the tea party's unfavorable ratings as high as those of the two major parties," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "It looks like the rise in the movement's unfavorable rating has come mostly among people who make less than $50,000." The tea party movement's unfavorable rating rose 15 points since October among lower-income Americans, compared to only five points among those making more than $50,000. Roughly half of all American households have incomes under $50,000, and half make more than that.

I remember when the Tea Party was first anounced and the Liberals were squealing with laughter and calling the movement "astroturf". Kinda funny how they now have the approval of at least half the country. How many of these other parties have that high of a percentage?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Drink Up!!!

You are actually so high on yourself that you don't understand anything that is happening around you. This FYI is the lull before the storm. It is the lull time politically and since nothing is going on you on the left think the Tea Party movement is dying off, since you are attacking with everything that you have.

Don't underestimate the anger that you, The Left have created in those who have never gotten involved before. Don't underestimate the anger that has grown in this country over a leader that is doing everything in his power to destroy what this country stands for!

Don't mistake what you are reading in your beloved HuffPuff for what is going on, and don't let your guard down, you might miss something!

Who cares what some blogger thinks anyway.

The tea party will die off if they ignore their mandate;

Cut down big government spending- and lower taxes. So far I don't see them cutting much of anything.

They better get with the program.

Don't underestimate the number of Americans who are getting tired of the obstructionist temper-tantrums and who are realizing what kind of destruction the teabaggers are starting to have on the jobs and livelihoods of middle-class Americans....

Just keep it up... I'm loving it...
