Teen council evaluating how safe local places are for young people

A group of Clear Creek High School students and recent graduates studying how safe and comfortable local hotspots are for teens has received more than 500 survey responses.

An initial look at the responses shows mostly positive feedback about 15 county spaces, with the negative input being about things that seem relatively fixable, TREK Teen Council members told the county commissioners at a June 18 work session.

However, the teens said they will fully analyze the survey responses during the next few months and plan to bring the completed findings and recommendations to the county commissioners in the fall.

Overall, the negative responses weren’t vague and laid out the problems very clearly, the teens told the commissioners.
