The clouds parted long enough Saturday morning for about 150 people of all ages to walk a mile to help stop child trafficking.

The inaugural Barefoot Mile supported JOY International, a Conifer-based organization dedicated to help rescue enslaved children. Dr. Jeff Brodsky, its founder and president, travels around the world to train other organizations and help rescue children. A large part of JOY International’s mission is educating people about preventing child trafficking.
