The clouds parted long enough Saturday morning for about 150 people of all ages to walk a mile to help stop child trafficking.
The inaugural Barefoot Mile supported JOY International, a Conifer-based organization dedicated to help rescue enslaved children. Dr. Jeff Brodsky, its founder and president, travels around the world to train other organizations and help rescue children. Then he works with other organizations to provide survivors with a safe place to reintegrate into society. A large part of JOY International’s mission is educating people about preventing child trafficking.
