As part of the "Crafts for Critters" program at IMHS, I make & donate knitted, felted wine cozies . They sell at the thrift store and have proven quite popular.
In an effort to de-clutter the craft room, I have recently made a few from my "leftovers" of partial skeins of wool. The results have been funky & fun. I took a gamble on different brands of wool felting at different rates, and won! I'll soon transition back to a single color w/coordinated trim and then the cycle shall repeat itself.
So, I got to thinking...
Would any knitters or crocheters care to donate any remnants of wool yarn? Even a few yards would make an amusing stripe in one of these projects. If you'd like to clean up your yarn stash and have it go to a good cause, I'll take it - as little or as much as you'd care to part with.
Wool only please. (Though I'd consider alpaca as well). No man-made fibers or blends as they will not felt and the end project would ruined.
PM me to arrange a meet or drop it off at the IMHS thrift store. Thanks in advance.
A huge thank you to Diane and the gang at the Knit Knook. A basket has been placed on the hearth ready to collect your odds & ends of wool.
Hugs to the anonymous person with a warm, wooly heart who donated an entire skein to the cause.
