CO Short Film Hits the Cannes Circuit-Filmed in Bailey

The Here Between was filmed in Bailey, at the Chatfield Reservoir dive pond, and the Grant-Humphries Mansion. Props and wardrobe were used from the Denver Victorian Playhouse. In total,The Here Between took one year from script development to post-production.

In disbelief that The Here Between got accepted into Cannes, Iliev initially didn’t share the news with anyone. Soon after however, he told co-producer Julie Pearson and informed the rest of the project’s team of the outstanding news. It’s easy to understand Iliev’s disbelief, as The Here Between encountered a number of obstaclesalong the way. The underwater scene was incredibly challenging for the cinematographer and actress Jada Roberts. Unfortunately, after a whole day of filming, Iliev wasn’t happy with the footage, so they had to reshoot. Working with a delicate subject matter that locals disliked, the crew also encountered problems while in Bailey. People there tried to sabotage the production, and in fact, the police were called four times and one man was arrested.
