need help to find help for some senior citizens

here is the scenario:
a couple in their 70ties, he has mild alzheimers, but enough so that the wife has to be around all the time; they can't afford to pay for professional help, the wife needs some support as the only caregiver; what options do they have? where can they turn for help?

Medicare won't pay for some additional help?
My mother was in a similar situation and medicare paid to get her part time help.

I agree with Wayne. Contact the Seniors' Resource Center in Evergreen. They have many resources that they can tell you about.
