Camping question........

Hi all!

We're looking for a camping place that might possibly have all of these requirements:

1) Within a few hours (or less) of Conifer.
2) Fairly easy to get to.
3) Water is a must. I loved Lake Wellington but that is closed. Perhaps a lake where we can rent a boat, wave runners, etc.
4) Fairly large campsite. We'll have about 8 ppl.
5) Maybe pet friendly.??????
6) Beautiful and quiet. A bit of privacy would be wonderful.

Any ideas Bounders?

You can rent boats at Eleven Mile but you will want to make reservation for a camp site as they fill up fast.

We typically disperse camp in lost park near the beaver ponds.

I like Cottonwood Lake outside Buena Vista. No boating though, just fishing. There are some good hiking trails in the area.

Jefferson Lake is good, but we liked Goose Creek.

There are campgrounds around Dillon Reservoir or you can drive a litter further to Grand Lake. I do not think any of the marinas will rent waverunners because the water is too cold even in summer. They will rent other boats though.

Tin Cup/Taylor Park Reservoir. Beautiful, plenty of camping and tons of fishing. Did a historic survey out there last year and camped at one of the many campgrounds. I always swear that I will go back to camp and fish during a weekend.

You cannot have motorized boats though, I believe.

Ok, so where is Goose Creek? Husband mentioned it, and I googled it, but the only one I can find is by boulder?

Wow, thanks for the ideas. Ok, one more monkey wrench to throw out there. We are taking two vehicles. We'll have 2 adults and six kids (each of the kids gets to bring a friend). So it has to be kid friendly and safe too.
