Bicycle Race?

Bicycle Race? was created by Stymie
Was anyone around here aware of a bicycle race today? A cyclist was hurt going down Highgrade and that's the first I learned of it. I thought that they had to post signs and go before the commissioners to get a race approved. This is a slash colection weekend! I wondered why there were so many cyclists. Strange that none had identifying numbers. A slash collection weekend is not a weekend to be having a race up here!

Hundo is a mountain bike race and doesn't come near these parts (Highgrade, Pleasant Park). They (channel 4)said that the race started and ended at Bandimere. I wrote the commissioners telling them that I never saw signs for a hearing (which is required) and that it was very irresponsible of them to allow a race around here on the same weekend as slash collection and they should have either told the organizers to change the weekend to a non-slash weekend or change the slash collection weekend.

Thanks for the info on Hundo. I was thinking of mountain biking in the same area next Saturday but I guess I'll have to change my plans.

There was a bike tour today...it started and ended by Bandimere. Don't know much about it but saw the tent and the cyclists riding 285 this morning.

There was a sign, which has been posted for a couple of weeks, on Hiway 73 past the Yellow Barn for a charity bicycle race today. Hiway 73, Shadow Mtn to Brook Forest, North Turkey Creek, South Turkey Creek, Evergreen, Kittredge, Indian Hills roads were all part of it. Never made it over to Pleasant Park to know the race was there too. And we did see quite a number of trucks/trailers with slash - had no idea where they were headed. We were mostly in Evergreen/Kittredge today and didn't have much trouble getting around the bikes.
