All things starred and striped are trending as June 14 marks Flag Day in the United States.The date commemorates the day in 1777 that the Second Continental Congress adopted the flag of the United States, which may or may not have been designed by Betsy Ross.The idea for Flag Day is attributed to BJ Cigrand, a schoolteacher from Wisconsin who organized his students on June 14, 1885, to celebrate the "Flag Birthday."The concept spread until President Woodrow Wilson officially established the holiday in 1916.
