You mean like what Iridium Satellite Service does?

We plan to move over to this service.

If you want to stay up on the news and arrange service, eventually, please contact our friend, George Pro at . - he could use the business! He'll send you email updates (that's how I got this one) as things progress.

That sounds great, but still short of details other than it will be high speed.

I could perhaps accept the lag of a satellite, but I can't accept a monthly cap on total bandwidth received. I'm hoping to eventually switch from Direc/Dish TV to internet TV. But a restriction on info received kills that.

So it's still Qwest for me. Reliable service. Just wish they were faster and still hoping for 7 mbs service since I know it's only 3 miles away.

The fair internet usage policy will be revised for this new offering. From what I understand, it will be unlimited between midnight and 4pm and the restrictions between 4pm and midnight are not bad if what you are using the internet for is listening to internet radio & podcasts (our main usage) , general internet spelunking, and email. Netflix seems to be a killer, but with the growth of that industry, I would think that they will put something in place to accommodate it.

We are trying to find a "tool" that we can use now to monitor our usage to ensure what we need to subscribe to.

I have contacted Qwest, now CenturyLink twice regarding this. The latest this week, asking if with the merger, any plans had changed. Still waiting for reply. The first reply that I received was no plans to bring Fiber in (as we are right off 285 and the line is running right up 285 already) to our area.

I'll post more as I learn more
