I will try and get a picture. it is about 2 inches long. .75 wide. antenna very long and swept back. Attracted to light. Reminds me of a cock roach. It flies.

What is it?

We had a couple of those visitors last night like you described. Had no idea what they were. I thought I might have brought them from Texas.

It sounds like a longhorn beetle.

Reading more carefully it's more likely a pine sawyer.

The antenna were like the Asian long horned but the coloration was more like the Ergates spiculatus.

what ever happened to just calling a bug a bug........you can differentiate if you want......you can have your big bugs, your little bugs, flying bugs, crawling bugs......scary bugs, cute bugs.....but in the end they're just bugs. No fancy name needed.

They are Alien probe gatherers. Sent here to look like bugs but are ahead of the invasion coming in 2012.

We are pretty sure this is a smaller one of the same species. The ones we did not get pictures of were larger, had a greater with to length ratio and the antennae were longer and swept back ~ the length of the body.
