Ok, this one might be a bit off topic but I lived in the American south for a few years as a child, picked my share of cotton and other crops by hand, and still admire the uncle and family I lived with in that time. After the war between states the south was devastated and they had to fend for themselves (yes I'm old but not THAT old). I came away from that experience with a great appreciation of the people who live there, solving problems with what was on hand, and letting good enough be the champion over the best and most expensive, perfect solution.
