Little Johny was staying with the grandparents while his mom and dad went on a short vacation. While eating breakfast Johny interrupts a conversation between his grandma and grandpa, desperately asking his grandpa "grandpa, what sound does a toad make?" Grandpa snapped, "Johny, don't interrupt adults when they are talking, it's very rude."
Later that evening Johny is sitting on the porch with his grandparents and the next door neighbors, the adults are talking about current affairs and why the good old days were so much better when Johny blurts out "grandpa, what sound does a toad make?!" Grandpa snapped, "Johny, don't interrupt adults when they are talking, it's very rude. Don't make me turn you over my knee and tan your backside right here and now in front of everyone!"
Later that night as bed time approached grandpa was feeling a little remorse about having spoken so sharply to his grandson, after all he is just a child and learning as he grows up. Grandpa calls Johny to his easy chair as Johny was on his way to bed and has Johny sit on his lap. Grandpa gently explained why it was so important not to be disrespectful by interrupting others while they are speaking. Grandpa told is grandson he loved him and then asked "don't you know what sound a toad makes?" Johny smiled and said "grandpa, I'm five years old, of course I know what sound a toad makes! I just want to hear you make the sound because Mommy says as soon as you croak we are going on long trip to Disneyland!"
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
