TRINIDAD, Colo. -- The largest earthquake to strike Colorado in almost 40 years has shaken hundreds of people near the New Mexico border.
The magnitude 5.3 earthquake was recorded at about 11:46 p.m. MDT Monday about nine miles southwest of Trinidad, Colo., and about 180 miles south of Denver, according to the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden.
By 4:00 a.m. more than 900 people had logged on to the U.S.G.S. web site to report feeling the quake. The reports reach up to Fort Collins.

The last class I took on Geology was waaaay back in high school, I'm far from qualified to make any predictions about earthquakes. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if there are some after shocks but I would like to think they would be minimal. Who knows, maybe Mother Nature has had enough of the BS coming out of DC and the stock markets and wants to show her displeasure... :Whistle
