It rained worms yesterday

So I covered the flowers yesterday just in case. This piece of plastic is about 4 ft off the ground and about 25ft long by really wide.

This photo is right in the middle of all that. Tell me how that worm got there?

Dropped by bird?

Whenever it floods somewhere I always think about how many millions of worms have drowned. It's sort of like that Far Side cartoon where a big crashed airliner is burning in the background and a bird is doing a TV news report,

It's all in how you look at it.

As it so happens, I raise red wigglers (for vermicomposting). I'd be happy to give you a bunch for free. Stop by MsMam's house anytime.

Oh thanks for the offer, but im looking for a different breed of worm. I'm looking for native Coloradan Night Crawlers specific to this region. They are meatier and the fish are acustomed to eating them. I have a flower bed filled with top quality imported dirt from the Midwest and I want to stick some native Coloradan Night Crawlers specific to this region in there and let them multiply so we never run out.

Come on by VL. That worm in the picture is native. I have hundreds in the flower/garden beds and the compost heap. Just don't know how that one escaped.
