Money made from polymer isn't new, the Aussies have been doing that since the early 1990's. I recall making a bet or two with some Diggers that I lost regarding my ability to tear a note in half.

The holograms and see through features of the new Canadian note will make it hard to counterfeit, for all of the information that the video gives for authenticating the note I bet there are plenty more things to know that the Canadian treasury is holding much closer to the vest.

The new note is a perfect opportunity to add an RF ID tag to each note; imagine the ability gubment's would have to track people as they drive through a toll plaza or walk through urban areas equipped scanning equipment. If you have a gubment issued smart ID card and some cash in your pocket not only would the gubment know who you are, or where you are at any given moment, they'd also know how much cash you have on your person. It's likely going to be a problem for criminals but it could also trip up individuals who have legitimate wealth and maybe even to common man.

Did I mention I got a killer deal on hundreds of feet of heavy duty lead foil on Ebay recently? Why heavy duty lead foil instead of tin foil? Lead is better at absorbing RF energy than tin, Google it for yourself. PM me if you want some, great for lining hats, computers, and wallets!

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
