Driving in my car - fast

I've finally gotten the video so I could post it. Didn't have a way to mount the camera inside so you could see the instrument panel, but on the long straight I get up to about 105 mph. (camera is mounted to the outside of the windshield)

You only really need to watch a couple of laps, that's when I finally get the rhythm and hit the apexes correctly (marked by the curbing on the corners).

Looks like fun! Right after I win the lottery I am going to take an extended vacation and do most of the stuff on my bucket list including this:

Note that the speeds shown in the HUD are in Kph not Mph so it's important to know that 333 Kph is equal to 207 Mph. There aren't many stretches of public road in the USA that I can think of that I would feel safe driving on at 200 Mph just because of the other drivers.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Pedal to the metal was always fun. What I do not recall is Ny State police looking kindly to such experimentation on NY highways. LOL

I wish I could do that, it looks like fun.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Why don't you join the next event? Bring that pretty little silver car. You'd beat me on the straight, but I'd get ya back in the corners.

I hope you weren't talking on the cell phone during that! LOL

Cool video. Looks like you were gaining on the car ahead in the turns, but they pulled ahead on the straights. You need some more ponies in that motor! :)

What is the redline on your car Pacamom? Are all the cars stock engines? Is blueprinting of the engine allowed?

Your right, I could not keep up with the cars on the straight as they just have way more horsepower than I do. That one in front of me most of the time was a brand new M3 with probably 500 HP. I have 300 HP. The group was a mix. It's based on driver experience, not the car. Remember driving school, not race.

My car is set up for autocross, where low end torque is better than 500 HP. I have all the usual goodies, the engine is chipped, it has a Dinan exhaust, sway bars, adjustable shocks and camber, and some sort of springs, H&R? It's a 95 M3.

I am good at the corners because that is what I do most of the time. I just need more power for the straights. It is most fun tho. The first time I was a bit scared of the speed, but I have overcome that.
