Happiest Months/Times of Day & Vice Versa

Although I love Christmas, I'm less happy at the onset of winter - I love my summers: warm weather, gardening, flowers in bloom, windows open, music cranked. How about you? Do you follow the trend below?

Twitter Posts Reflect Shifts in Happiness

It turns out the last months of each year, Saturdays and the early mornings are happy times, while January, the first days of the week and late-nights are not. Holidays and individual events, like a royal marriage or the death of a celebrity, can also have significant effects on mood, the team of researchers from the University of Vermont found.

There were gloomy days, too. The bailout of the U.S. financial system, enacted in early October 2008, induced a multi-week depression among twitterers. Michael Jackson's death on June 25, 2009, produced the largest single-day drop.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I am the exact opposite, cold weather and snow make me happy! Why go out in the hot weather and sweat your behind off when it's so much nicer to head out in the snow and shed clothes as needed to regulate your temp?!

I love the grill and smoke all year long, my friends and family give me grief for stepping out on the deck in shorts and flip-flops or barefoot to tend to meals underway when it's "cold" (under 30F), never mind if there is snow on the ground.

Most of the dogs I have had over the years get excited when it snows and the Wundermutt is no exception. He can't wait to get outside after the snow is on the ground so he can roll and slide around in the snow.

Waaaaaaaay back when I wintered over on Adak island (Alaska) in the Navy and I have to admit I really enjoyed it. At the same time when summer came and the sun was up almost all day that was kind of cool too.

Could it be that we prefer the seasons as we age vs. being pre-disposed to SAD?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

I hate when the days grow shorter so I love the winter solstice because of the increasing sunlight. Oddly Christmas makes me sad. Maybe because I can no longer be that excited imp of decades ago.

I like summer for motorcycle riding! September is the best. December ughhh! Too dark.

Early morning coffee time is the best, unless you have to rush off to work.

I love each day that dawns. There will come a sad day whenever my wife, one of my children, or myself will not awaken and we will never pass this way again.

I prefer spring time more than any other part of the year. Love the smell of newly blooming and growing vegetation and the smell after a rain shower. Love that everything is coming alive after the dormant winter.

Dislike heat immensely...maybe it was the 7+ years I spent in San Antonio and the 4+ years I spent in Arkansas...heat and humidity=yukky!

Dislike November & December...but it isn't because of the weather and that it is darker...it is because of a major incident that happened when I was 11 and I just can't forget...sucks that the holidays suck for me, but my kiddos and family and I work around it.

Have no real day of the week that is best...largely because in the military you may not have "normal" days off...every day could be a day you have to work. I do enjoy some days of the week better than others, but it is 'cuz there is usually something I enjoy watching on TV (right now it is Top Chef on Wednesday nights and Once Upon a Time on Sunday night, but in the summer it is Covert Affairs on USA on Tuesdays).

I'm so not a late night person...never have been...and even though I don't like getting out of bed, it seems that when I get up earlier in the a.m., (like 6 am...earlier than that is for the birds) I feel better.

I wonder what people said that work swings or graves? Or people that worked a set schedule like 3 days on, then 3 days off, then 2 on, with alternating shifts?

Spring time is probably my favorite time. Its the rebirth of nature that I love. Having said that, I love Winter, enjoy summer and marvel at the foliage in the fall. Basically find pleasure in every part of the year. I love the four seasons.

I prefer spring. I am happiest when my hands are covered in dirt.
Christmas is also a sad time for me for lots of different reasons. I am a southern girl at heart who likes to feel the sun on my face.
