What is funnier is he is going to owe 2011 taxes on this by April 15th. $300,000 car -$3500 insurance, now he has to sell it after it gets repaired as a used, expensive sports car and probably owes >40% in taxes. Thats a problem with big prizes, you have to pay taxes with cash from another source. He may have trouble breaking even depending on the sale price. LOL
If you ever win a big prize, best advice is to sell immediately for the taxes owed. Unless you can afford it.
