Over the last month, I immersed myself in building something for my mom.

Here's the fruit of my labor!

Looks like a gift anyone would appreciate! Did you have plans to work from or did you work out the dimensions on your own? Can you post a source for the clock movement and the face if you have them? TIA!

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Otis - glad you're back in the saddle!

I had some plans that I changed a little for my own purposes (I routed a cabinet panel instead of making a bookend, for example).

Clock movement from klockit.com. They have quartz movement, as well as atomic clock movement. They have a wealth of options for clock hands and faces. I bought individual pieces, rather than a kit (they're pricey). I found some walnut at a local lumber yard ($5/bd ft!). The spalted maple is from Woodcraft (I caught them on a good day).

I'd note that I've been less than thrilled with their service (they're out of a lot of inventory - accept your order online - then cancel it)

To be fair - they've never over-charged me, and have gone out of their way to make things right.

Yes - the photography could use some improvement!

Very cool BB...Wish I had time to do more woodworking to hone my skills. I always admire what you and Rockdoc accomplish!

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
