As a non-profit charity, Intermountain Humane Society does not have the advertising budget of large corporations. We rely on fliers, our web site, the blessing of these local bulletin boards, and word-of-mouth to advertise our services to help animals.
We have a worker in our shelter who cares so deeply about helping animals that she volunteered to put IMHS magnet signs on her personal car. Last night between 6.30pm and 7.30pm she was parked in the Safeway parking lot in Conifer for about an hour, and the magnets were stolen off both sides of her car. There were fingerprints smeared across the doors where the magnets were, and it is simply not possible that they fell off.
We are hoping that someone going to or from the store last night may have noticed something, and can recognize now that what they saw happening was theft....please, if you saw someone removing magnets from a black SUV, come forward with what you saw.
The police have been notified and we are researching surveillance opportunities with the company that owns the parking lot, but we'd rather spend these minutes doing the work for homeless animals that fulfills our mission. Please, if you saw anything that could be useful in helping us recover these little signs that help us to market the shelter animals, let us know. If you happen to find the signs, we'd be so grateful to have them dropped at our shelter's door, anytime.
That was the first 4 calls that were made. Safeway is not responsible for the parking lot. The company that owns the complex is responsible and they have no surveillance on the lot.
