In addition, the Friends of the Fairplay Library are planning a new facility, which will include a dedicated area for the Park County Local History Archives.
Since our beginning in 2000, we have been in four locations. Presently we are using a very small meeting room in the Bailey Library. Since we are short on space much of our collection is in safe storage. We now have an opportunity to have a permanent location large enough to house our collection and equipment for our patrons to conduct their research, but we are in desperate need of your support.
Included with the update is a request for donations to help us furnish the new facility with the equipment we need to accommodate our patrons while researching Park County's rich pioneering heritage. Join with us in making this facility the best it can be and preserving the past for future generations. We look forward to your support and to having our entire historic collection and future acquisitions available for our patrons to use.

Finally, the Park County Office of Historic Preservation has published their first newsletter..."
Preservation Matters". It is a fantastic newsletter filled with important information about the County's efforts to preserve our heritage and interesting and informative articles about historic places and events within the county. The newsletter is on-line at:
