Pine Beetle Anyone?

I know we have a few months but thought I would see if anyone else is interested in purchasing the pheromone blocks for pine beetle?

At the end of last year I talked to the forest office by Winter Park and they have had real good luck with this product.
I read a bunch of articles on how this product works vs. spraying and since we have 5 acres to cover we are going to pursue this method this spring.

You can get a better deal if we order bulk so if there are others that want to participate please PM me with your contact information and when it comes closer I will contact you again.

If anyone else would like to share information on this product please do the more we know the better.

One thing I do know is that I cannot afford to spray hundreds of trees at a cost of $10.00 or more per tree. Until last year we did not see pine beetle on the property. We took out 4 trees last year that had them and disposed of the wood.

Thanks,
Kim

Hi All,

Thanks for all the PM’s I am not an expert on this product so information I give you is based on what I have read and have been told by the US forest people I have talked to.

For specific questions please Google “pine beetle pheromone Colorado” there are many articles out there with a ton of information.

If you find what you feel is a good article please post the link so we can all read it. Last year I started looking into this product after it was too late to be effective so that is why I am starting in February to try and find a good supplier.

Thanks

One of the supplier websites

http://www.alpinetreeservices.com/beetle-block.cfm?gclid=CO7XsOGah64CFUKFQAodtGqX5g

Looks like 150 pouches to cover 5 acres we will probably order less because our property has areas with just aspens.

Pricing out of Canada seems to be the cheapest and it looks like they have free shipping.
