Good fortune - prices spike before valentines and Xmas.
A gemologist can spot the fake sitting across a dinner table. Clearly you don't know gemologist and believe what you read on the Internet.
I'm some what confused.......several years ago 60 minutes(Dateline,John Stossel one of them) ran a story on the newly invented
procedure that could simulate geologic conditions that produce diamonds. These diamonds were NOT synthetic, but rather produced
via natural processes that were accelerated, thereby producing a diamond in a month's diamond rather than eons. They were NOT
fake, but rather man-made utilizing this accelerated method of production. Is this then classified as synthetic? The story further
stated that the result of this procedure was an authenticate diamond that could NOT be identified as anything other than a natural
diamond......anyone able to shed light on this information?
There is a company called Brilliant Earth that maybe you could look into as well before you make your purchase. I have heard wonderful things about them and their "conflict free" practices. I don't know how the prices will compare to what you have found, but it's worth checking out I think. Here's the link to them:
