Forest Fire Air Tankers On Call At Jeffco

21 Mar 2012 09:05 #1 by FredHayek
KOA just reported that there are two air tankers at JeffCo airport right now to deal with possible fires this week. One 2000, one 200 gallon payload.

Hopefully the aircrews are not needed. :crossed:

We could use more moisture. Have to agree, I hope they aren't needed.

Has anyone seen the Hercules C-130's, i think, (i call them baby hueys) flying low over the mountains of Bailey about 10:40 to 11 a.m.? Looks like they are practicing tactical manuevers for afghanistan?

Hope it doesn't get too windy. At least there is still some snow in the woods in some areas.

Looked like near Westcreek on Becky's link. That would be near the Hayman burn area I think.

No one is reporting it as far as I can see. Was this heard on a scanner?
