Donation of the Yellow Barn

The owners of the Yellow Barn in Conifer are looking into the possibility of donating the barn to the community. The site of the Yellow Barn is of huge historical significance to the area and it would be wonderful to see the Yellow Barn building restored in some way where it may once again be used by the community.
We have an initial meeting on Thursday 12th April, 6.30 at the Library in Conifer to discuss possibility's. If you are interested in finding out more about this exciting project, please join us.

Thanks for the info!

I don't know any of the history of the Yellow Barn so if anyone has some to share, I'd be interesting in learning more.

Here is a link to a website with the history.

http://preservetheyellowbarn.org/history.php

It was built in 1918 along with the two smaller buildings on the property. The property goes back way further. There is also on the site a well, hand dug in the civil war (1862). This in in the process of being repaired (I will post photos when it is finished). We understand the well is the oldest existing well in Colorado. The whole property is very interesting, holding a wealth of history and stories of ghosts, murder and lots more.
