Amenities?

If you could add an amenity up here to make the community better.....what would you add?

A Walmart, Movie Theater, Bowling, kids play park?

I was reading elsewhere that folks were upset over a play ground at Delwood and it got me thinking about amenities we could support to provide safe fun for our kids and grandkids.

That's a tough one. Bowling, and movie theaters haven't made it up in the mountains.

As for play parks, be careful where you put them. We have a baseball field in Burland that is now a nightmare. Jam packed with vehicles and noise. Drove by several times on Saturday and it was an all day event. I pity the people who live nearby. What was once a lovely relaxing area is a zoo.

Most people moved up to the mountains knowing there weren't these amenities available. Not sure that the county can support any new play areas even with the money they receive.

When people want amenities they trek them down to Denver or wherever and enjoy and then come back up and enjoy the mountains.

As for the kids playing in the parking lot, it seems that the business owners aren't willing to provide after school care for them. There are a number of after school programs at the school to engage in. Looks like a bad business decision on their part. I am guessing they are struggling like many businesses up here.

And it seems to me that foreclosures are just starting in Bailey, not easing. We will see more people moving back to Denver.

It just doesn't seem feasible at the moment.
