We have a den of five kits on our property at the moment. We also have some new neighbors who have obviously not lived around wildlife until now. Several days ago we came home from work to find one of the older teenage kids on our property standing about 10 feet away from the den trying to take pictures of the kits. Momma fox was having a fit. I didn't want to sound like a bitch (particularly since they're new neighbors), but I told the kid nicely that she needed to back off; the fox could attack. She was completely unfazed and replied "Yeah, just a minute.." and continued to take pictures. My husband was slightly more vocal (but still not confrontational), and she finally got a clue and left.
This afternoon I saw Mom with a toddler in tow (the kid couldn't have been more than 3) over in the same area! Now, how stupid do folks have to be to approach wildlife with babies with a toddler in tow????!!!!! :bash
I sent an email to our POA folks along with a short statement that basically says "please leave the wildlife on our property alone" and asked them to send that out to all the residents. I'll also post the same thing on our neighborhood bulletin board.
I'm open to any other suggestions! I don't want to come across as a PITA to the neighbors, but I don't want folks on our lot bugging the foxes!
NO TRESPASSING SIGNS, PRIVATE PROPERTY SIGNAGE.. They certainly should not be on YOUR property.... maybe a HOMEMADE but not to homemade looking sign that reads LEAVE THE WILDLIFE ALONE.. all or one might help....
I wouldn't build a greenhouse unless you have a domestic well. With the current water situation Denver Water will probably patrol like they did in 2002 and hand out tickets right and left, unless you can prove that you are bringing water in.

Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex. Only whit man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.” Indian Chief Two Eagles
We have our household water shares through Mountain Mutual Reservoir. We're allowed to water 500 sq. ft. of garden (vegetable or flower, our choice). There is no "one size fits all" rule on the household shares -- check with your water manager and see what you're allowed.
