Quite a few photos. A couple near the end showing what it looks like now. Takes some time to come back. It will be wonderful for the wildlife.

The D-Post article reads like tabloid trash.
The speculation, rehash, accusations of matters already decided. It is all moot now.

The damage is done. The land will take generations to grow again to the way we remember.
Barton cannot be retried, her fate has been set, Her previous life is gone, The land is gone for now.
Residents former lives and homes gone. Never to be the same.
Firefighters lives lost enroute.

But all the reporter does is stir the ashes of doubt.

Reporter Ingold: You do area residents and the public a disservice with this kind of writing

Why bring it all up again?

I think they brought it up again because it's the 10 year anniversary of the largest fire in Colorado's recorded history.

I also don't think the Hayman Fire started from two pieces of paper.

Marking the 10 years I can understand, I really had a problem with the content though.

You'd be surprised, under the right conditions any small flame can do it.

As the article stated, there was absolutely no evidence of paper having been burned in the fire ring and plenty of evidence that she didn't burn the letter there. I was also surprised the see the fire started in a different place than I had previously thought. I had thought it started right at Lake George but it was actually northwest of there, along the Tarryall Road.

Informative article. I hadn't kept up and didn't know there had been some question as to whether there was even a letter.

It does look more like the classic start a fire, be a hero putting it out syndrome.

Like most folks, here --- I own property in the front range area region. Like most folks here, I feel my property values went down (at least in part) in response to the fire. Even so - I see no point or benefit to digging, anymore.

Barton started the fire -

I don't really care why/how --- I know she's already bankrupt (and then some).

I don't see any point to re-visiting the subject - it won't make her more broke than she is, already --- and won't do
anything to help those individuals that were injured (physically or financially) by the fire.

Back to the theme of the thread, it shows that the land is coming back, albeit slowly and even though it was a horrible experience for many, in its current state it will offer nutrients to the wildlife over a long period of time. Seeing the good that can come out of something often thought of as not so good.
