PARK COUNTY, COLO. -- U.S. Forest Service officials said weather conditions Monday helped firefighters fight a wildfire that has grown to 70 acres in Park County near Wilkerson Pass.
Officials with Pike National Forest said the fire burning west of Lake George is twice as big as it was when crews were first called to it over the weekend. There are currently 60 firefighters battling the fire, which is about 20 percent contained as of Monday evening.

Crews hope to have a wildfire in Park County fully contained Monday night. The Weber fire began burning in the Pike National Forest in an area roughly 3 miles north of Wilkerson Pass on Sunday evening.
An estimated 70 acres have burned, with roughly 50 acres of forest land and the other 20 on private land.
Thanks for the link. Encouraging news. Really glad to see homes in the area. Hopefully a homeowner will continue to keep an eye on it once it is contained and out. Since fires can continue to burn in tree trunks etc., wind could restart it, like the Lower North Fork Fire.
