I'm a card carrying member of the NRA...I just think all there bull$hit about Obama coming after there guns is ridiculous..The guns keep the government in check, checks and balances. The guns empower "we the people" and wether it's republican or democrat i'm all about empowering the people.

BTW guys..Unions empower people as well.

(Quick disclaimer: Humor & sarcasm, MAY or MAY NOT be present in this post in certain areas. Food for thought.)

In response to the initial post, that site seems a very good start for many people to raise awareness. There are a vast amount of areas I also find it lacking, but again, at least it brings forth the idea that if certain "What ifs" occur there are reasonable solutions to help maintain security and sanity.

I've also heard many people say they'd rather spend their time living life instead of fearing it, much like what was written above by another member and that too is a fair statement for some. Certainly can't condemn or scoff at those who feel they live life to the fullest, I think its great for them to find and maintain their inner peace. With that said, I consider I live a very fullfilled life also even though I do tend to stockpile things, including fish I catch or from meat of hunted game. Growing my own fruits and veggies is also as enjoyable as it is rewarding. Its very relaxing for me to explore the areas of Colorado and enjoy nature but at the same time I'm also learning of areas where resources and defensible solutions can occur and I share this knowledge with my brethren. Its extremely fun for my family and I to modify our vehicles into tactical, mobile, fortifications and emergency stations far exceeding typical stock vehicles abilities. Having implements like mobile anti-aircraft capability, land mines, bio and chemical suits and decontamination solvents can be a rather exciting way to bond with those you love. The togetherness of family time is also accentuated while camping in either the forest or the fallout shelter. Being a part of a reconaissance operations unit also offers a sense of brotherhood with your fellow, molle ladden friends. And let's face it..... nothing makes a man's wife look sexier than taking her to the shooting range and watching her perform field and simulated room sweeps with deadly accuracy as she drops target after target and all while learning the valuable exercise of defense and assault tactics.

I say live life. Live it however and with whomever you choose. Preparedness is certainly for some of us, and maybe not so much for others but that too is quite alright. After all it becomes a very moving life lesson when teaching the youth of our nation how to survive when there are plenty of ill-begotten samples of "what once was" in abundance, scattered about the land. Instruction with a smile is important to pupils with tears, fear and remorse. It suggests strength through perseverance and yes.... possibly lets them know that to beat ALL odds, sometimes one must be just the right kind of different.

But as I mentioned above.... some of this MAY or MAY NOT be humor and sarcasm. Either way its just food for thought..... fellow neighbors.
