Has anyone used the chipping services available, I think, with Platte Canyon fire if you live in the district?

Now this is hear-say, so...
We where helping a guy unload and the subject came up, about only one slash day for CHS.
I was told "The Jeffco Commissioners, (or whomever decides these thing, sorry, didn't catch what he said), decided to cut back, because of the cost $1.6 million to keep so many slash days going".
Please somebody correct what I think I heard, because I don't get it.
As I understand the wood is sold after being chipped, we pay for each load, and folks volunteers (God Bless them), I don't see how it could cost so much.
Than the question would come up, where does the $$$ go?
Doesn't that group releaize that some of us (unlike rtd,vl,mp) care about fire mitagation?
Please correct, because I don't want to put out BAD info.

it is the county commissioners that make these decisions. why don't you compose a letter to them and email it to them?
