I don't know if you've noticed, but the slash collection schedule has been SLASHED this year. The one last weekend at CHS was the ONLY ONE FOR THIS WHOLE SUMMER up here and all other collection days are reduced to just two more at other locations. With all the dryness and FIRE BANS this year, it is crazy. So let's DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Here is email that I wrote and I got a response that there are some things in the works, but it is waiting for approval from our county commissioners. The more folks that write, the better the case and the better chance of them listening to us. and oh yeah, let's inundate them with a gazillion loads of slash when we do get more collection days, so get busy!
Hi, with all the dryness and wildfires and fire bans this year, it is a shame to have cut back so significantly on the schedule this year. Is there a reason I can post to our local websites? Better yet, is there a way to increase them? I think the wildfire here locally (Conifer) has gotten many very motivated but not on father's day.
PLEASE keep the communication civil and respectful and keep it on topic regarding SLASH COLLECTION SITES. The more in the community that ask for more, the better chance we have of them revising this. NOW GET BUSY
They aren't quite as convenient, but there are 2 more slash collections scheduled yet. One this weekend at Coal Creek Fire, and another in August at Inter-Canyon/Indian Hills.
Edit to add: contacting the county commissioners is a good idea that I wholeheartedly endorse, as we more collections dates and sites, especially closer to Park Co, would be helpful.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
