I wanted to mow our grass today but called in to check.
Mowers are prohibited.
With as many fires as were reported yesterday and today....how does one not know there is a problem.

Who did you call? It would have never crossed my flat lander born and raised brain to ask about a lawn mower.

Now I am wondering about my gas powered log splitter.

Use common sense Blazer Bob. If that wood needs to be split today, have a fire extinquisher at the ready. I doubt you need wood today.

If you have questions about the ban you can call the Platte Canyon fire office they are very helpful.

There are not any solid guidelines if it is a 2 stroke engine most likley it will fall under the same as a chain saw.

We habe plenty of wood to split but we have an electric splitter all of the big stuff that needs the chain saw will have to wait.

Still hope to see more fire ban signs in the subdivisions even Loaf-n-Jug has one.

To one extreme to another. Please people, use common sense. It is not like everything is doused in gasoline. Proper education brings understanding of situational awareness . For goodness sake, get real people. Take a look around you and observe what is going on and quit assuming things. I'm concerned on the reactions going on here. Don't get me wrong because I'm heartbroken with all the fire activity too. Just get a grip people. Damn.

I called Park County dispatch after hearing fire ban violations for chain saws repeatedly on the scanner.

I pressed the link and it shows different information. Nothing about motorized equipment. It does show that it was updated 6-22-2012. So that means motorized equipment like a mower and chainsaw would be acceptable, assuming good judgment when used?

Here's Jeffco's Stage 2 Fire Restrictions
http://jeffco.us/jeffco/news_uploads/ho ... re_ban.pdf

I don't know of any list other than what has been posted by Parkco and Jeffco.

I would think if it isn't listed that it is allowed, using good judgment in its use.
