Please use extreme caution.

The soil in the Conifer area, is primarily decomposed granite, more stone than dirt. When it rains, instead of soaking in, the water filters through the gravel and is lost.

Our forests were dangerously dry just days ago. Then, we had a couple nice rain showers, and Jeffco lowered the fire threat level. But all it will take is a couple days of high height and no precipitation, and we’ll be right back where we started.

It’s “legal” to have a small open fire within a permanently constructed grate at a private residence, but it may not be “wise.” Please use extreme caution.

This is our home.

In case of emergency, please dial 911.
