I just saw that Alex was one of the ones that didn't make it. I'm so sorry CG.

Yeah, I just got off the phone. It is official. This was not the news they were hoping for. He was one of the ten.
His last FB entry was about how excited he was to go the the movie last night. This family is devastated. I know they could use your thoughts. Thanks guys.

Statement from the family of Alex Sullivan, who was killed in the Aurora shooting:

"The Sullivan family lost a cherished member of their family today. Alex was smart, funny and, above all, loved dearly by his friends and family. Today was his 27th birthday. They respectfully ask that the media allow them time to grieve privately. They will not be giving interviews in the near term. Please honor their wishes by refraining from contacting them on private numbers or at their home while they come to terms with this tremendous loss."

Leave a comment to share your thoughts on his passing or please share to spread his memory.

Just another update on the other gal. Still in the hospital from injuries of being trampled. But alive.

Good night all. Hug your kids for me tonight and kiss them if they are asleep. Alex was a Grandview graduate in our Smoky Hill Bound area and I we are sad beyond words. :tulip:

We add our deepest sympathy, condolences, and offer of help, as well. In the coming days, all these families will need some form of help as they go through their own grieving processes. As we're sure they are probably already painfully aware, the entire process can, and will, be overwhelming at times. We hope they are all able to sit back, take collective breaths when necessary, and allow the help that sometimes seems to materialize out of nowhere to assist them in this most difficult of journeys of healing.

TEACH PEACE!

This is starting to hit me now. I finally cried last night. Everyone around here is traumatized. It reminds me of the chuck e cheese murder. I still have a very hard time driving by there and have only gone to one of those stores that replaced it, once. We used to visit chuck E Cheese twice a week right before that murder. I lived acoss the street when my daughter was 2 years old. And knew one person in that one too. I have to say I am proud beyond belief of the kids and survivors, emergency workers. Many of us who have lived here for a long time just know alot of people around here. I know alot of you think Aurora is some big city and more disconnected but not in SouthEast Aurora. I have lived here for many years and I would not live here if I did not like it. I went to Gateway High School. One of my first jobs was at the toy store at the aurora mall. Now when I was growing up here we went to the theater in the mall. Century 16 came up later but I went to movies there too. I went to a ton of movies inside the mall though. I have a million memories around here. I grew up here. My kids grew up farther south but they are in their 20's and still went all over aurora.

So, please keep these guys in your thoughts. I really don't know how this is going to affect us in the coming months and years, I have to admit I am really sad that this happened but especially here. Please just keep in mind it is not a reflection of the city.

I certainly will pass on condolences if I get a chance. Have a good day all.

Beautifully said ZHawke.

RIP Prayers for their families. And for all those who are in the hospital, who saw the horrific tragedy and their families. There is a 14 year old with a bullet near his heart. They haven't been able to do surgery. Too many others with injuries. Prayers for all.

These parents live one block away from me. My kids took the school bus together. I talk to them when i walk my dog. Just FYI. I am going to take a break ya all. But say a prayer. This is a very tight knit family and they do have each other but this has forever changed us. We will see how it plays out in the future for Aurora, Colorado gateway to the Rockies. Yeah, I am proud to live in Saudi Aurora as they call us.

Hug your loved ones and have a great day.
