Thanks for the link CG. Condolences to all the families.

Had a sister and friend who survived but quite traumatized by everything they saw and heard.

Still waiting to hear from others who are still hospitalized.

Your sister was there? Does she live around here? I am very sorry to hear that they had to endure that. Grr.... My neighbors daughter who is maybe 8 or so is having a hard time. She said she didn't want to go to movies anymore. And my son informed me he is going to see the dark knight tomorrow. I have to say part of me thought don't go!

Hope your sister and friend are okay.

Just an update, our neighborhood is getting a collection together and a card and we are going to do something for the family. There was a 4 and 7 truck out there last night but since then no media has been around. Tons of cars there so I think they are being taken care of. I don't know of funeral arrangements yet. So they are respecting their wishes for now. The LA times wanted to talk to the neighbor kid next door since he was his friend.

CG my sister and I have been staying with a friend in Aurora near the theater while we canvas in Spanish getting out the vote. My sister and friend were there that night. Had there been another ticket I would have probably gone too or instead but was getting caught up on sleep. They are going to be fine I think, but it was traumatic. What was most frustrating is that they weren't close enough to try to tackle the guy or take any kind of action. All they could do was lay out on the floor, be absolutely still and watch all the people who were hit, dead or bleeding or watch others trampling over other people trying to exit. Friend had two of her fingers broken by others trampling over her. She said it was hard not to scream out in pain. The ones who were shot were either running or screaming which attracted his attention.

They plan on returning to another theater to see the movie at a later date.

More frustrating is that they haven't heard how some of those who were injured are doing.

I will give you a quick update over here. I have talked to many people this weekend and am still hearing the stories. You have to remember the movie was still playing it was dark. No one had a chance to do anything at all.

Alex Sullivan was married at the same church my daughter was married at and the priest there said they are now planning his funeral . Almost everyone around here knew someone in the shooting. Our whole neighborhood is just terribly upset about all of this. When I went over to pick up some flowers that me and the neighbors are giving Alex's parents the girl doing the flowers were part of that same Red Robin group and was the only one not injured. She is spending every single day with all of her friends at the various hospitals. We have been crying together. My son is at Arapahoe Crossing right now watching the batman movie. I am telling you evey single person you talk to around here knew someone that was there or was a sister brother etc. My other neighbors grandson was mad at his parents because there was an extra ticket and he was invited but they said it was too late for him to be out. This is the story here over and over and over. The whole area knew someone.

My one neighbor was talking to the fire chief from Cunningham fire department while I was at her house. He was there and saw it all. He was choked up too.

So, I am very glad you all are okay. I know the trauma is going to be really hard going forward.

My heart is aching. And my thoughts not only go immediately to the now where the pain and grief is immeasurable and for those that have never experienced the death of a friend or family member, let alone the violent death of same, but to the future.

Right now, there is an abundance of aid and help available for these families and friends. In five years, maybe less, maybe more...not so much. It is my prayer that these families, friends, and those others at the scene are able to keep getting the help needed down the road and never, ever stop talking about this tragedy, no matter that others don't want to hear about it.

This incident will reverberate throughout all of their lives forever! Blessings on all.
