The old XP system crapped out. It has been replaced. Howerver I would like to retreive some files off of one of the disks. I loaded Ubuntu on one of the IDE drives that was in the system. Ubuntu sees that drive and another IDE drive just fine. What it doesn't see is the SCSI drive that has the data I would like to retrieve. I does seem to see the controller (Adaptec 2940UW) controller, the drivers seem to be loaded but the SCSI drives are not seen. Fdisk -l does not list the SCSI drives only the 2 IDE drives. The BOIS and the Adaptec controller see the drives just fine, in fact I did a low level format on one of the SCSI drive just to see it there was file system issue.
Anyone?
Yes I checked the forums and man pages, everything I read or tried so far siad the AHA 2940 ought to just paly nice.

I used the Adaptec onboard utilties to sucessfully format SCSI drive 1, I am hoping capture some data off of drive 0
