How bout it!? I was an older child and when I went to college in Melbourne Florida- I was housed in a cinder block sweat box dorm room with 2 other guys and no tv or even radio except for bible belt bullsh!t. When my little brother went to UNLV he had a great apartment 10 minutes from the strip, a nice car, and a generous allowance. My father was career Air Force when I was little so Ho Ho's, Hostess Cupcakes, Suzy-Q's and Twinkies were a F-ing dream I never realised.. I never got any of those, or Coke Cola for that matter. Then he started making big money in the private sector and my little brother and sister had it all..Ruffles, Fritos, F-ing Little Debbies
Also, when I was a youngster my dad would make us sit in the $1 Bleachers seats at Wrigley, and he would pack our own hotdogs- Box seats were like $4.50 then, and Hotdogs were probably 50 or 75 cents..Way too much money.
I liked Frosted Flakes but we didn't get them very often. I didn't like cereal when it got soggy so I ate it really fast and was then still hungry. I also liked Raisin Bran and Grape Nuts.
Sugar Smacks, Sugar Pops, Rice Krispies (Snap Crackle & Pop) Honey Comb, Trix - the list is a long one. Which cereal box had the horse that wore a cowboy hat? Half the fun was reading the back of the box.
