My daughter was entered by her husband in a contest to receive free lasic surgery, and is one of 6 finalists. The Buckley Chang Eye Institute is offering free lasic to 3 first responders, police, firemen, or paramedics. Her husband, a police officer, had the surgery 2 years ago, and it has made a big difference in how he does his job, He wants the same freedom from glasses for his wife, my daughter, as glasses can be a liability when you are working a scene on the highway, or subduing a patient who is high on drugs or just out of control.
If you are willing, the contest is on facebook, the three finalists who get the most "likes and/or shares" will win. Please read the bios, and if it seems worthwhile to you, I, and my daughter, would sure appreciate your vote. Her name is Carrie Alarid, and here is the link
Done! Good luck to Carrie, she deserves it! Please tell her and your son-in-law how much I appreciate the profession they've chosen - it's not an easy one, but rewarding for the soul to help others.
Hope you're enjoying that new grandbaby!
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
Thanks SC, I really appreciate your vote. I'm very proud of my daughter, she is a remarkable woman. She has been working since she was 16 saving lives.....lifeguard, emt, 911 paramedic, respiratory therapist, she also has fire fighting training, and haz mat......I used to worry a lot about her, she has been shot at, nearly run over on the highway, attacked by the very people she is trying to help, it's a lot more dangerous than people think. Now she is working towards being a flight medic. And....this is the biggie, she has the cutest little baby boy you have ever seen (no, I am NOT prejudiced, much). She and her husband work opposite shifts so my grandson is always being looked after by a parent...of course there are a couple grandmas just itching to take their turn babysitting!
Done, I tried to like with all our accounts including National Community Sale Day, Smoky Hill Bound and Communities Bound. And I shared and liked through all the accounts as well. Good luck I hope she wins!
