Just FYI. As is always good practice, do regular back-ups and make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date and running regular scans. Who knows how hackers could access your data with this info, but it's prudent to be cautious in light of things like this happening.

One million Apple UDIDs (Universal Device IDs) were released to the public today, along with Notification Center tokens, device names, and device IDs, and while none of the data is personal information, it can potentially be tied back to device owners, names, and addresses.

According to Antisec, the group that released the data, the one million is just part of over 12 million UDIDs they obtained from an FBI-owned laptop compromised in March 2012.

Unfortunately, if you own an Apple device, there's nothing you can really do at this point. It's unclear what if anything Apple (or the FBI for that matter) will say or do about the leak, or what a malicious party could do with the information, but for now it's a good reminder to keep your computers secure and malware free.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
