Going to the department of motor vehicles can put a frown on anyone’s face, but for New Jersey residents, smiling is officially against the rules.

I've often thought that the photo on my license would not resemble the expression on my face if I'm pulled over . . .

When I renewed my license a few years ago they made me take off my glasses (that I wear all the time) and told me twice NOT to smile. I did anyway and after 3 or 4 shots the lady gave up. I have a very creepy smile on my license now.
