Going to the department of motor vehicles can put a frown on anyone’s face, but for New Jersey residents, smiling is officially against the rules.

When I renewed my license a few years ago they made me take off my glasses (that I wear all the time) and told me twice NOT to smile. I did anyway and after 3 or 4 shots the lady gave up. I have a very creepy smile on my license now.
