What was the wreck that closed 285 by Shaffers Crossing?

Did anyone see what happened just before 1 pm today on 285 near Shaffers Crossing? CDOT said the highway was closed due to a wreck. I saw on Pinecam's shoutbox there were multiple amublances. Nothing posted on any scanner/highway update that I could find. Just wondering what happened to close the highway?

Nevermind. Found in the info in a regular post on PC. Apparently it was right by the Mountain Club.

Somebody said "multiple ambulances"? That's not really accurate. I was about 12 vehicles behind it heading SW and it took maybe 45 minutes before our lane could get around it. There were only 2 ambulances called in and the 2nd was about 10 minutes after the first. I only saw two cars that were involved but there were a number of vehicles pulled over to help, I assume.

Two is multiple. Reading the thread on PC from people who were there, it sounds like a pregnant woman was turning left off the highway and was hit. I was just surprised nothing on it was posted on any of the scanner threads anywhere.

I saw the info on PC 20 minutes after it was posted and I checked COTRIP like they claimed the information was on, and there was nothing of any kind listed for 285. I then checked DSV and there was nothing there about it either. Then I looked at our webcams for a backup and the traffic was moving just fine so I saw no reason to post anything that had no credible source for backup reference and didn't appear to be impeding traffic in any way. Alerting people to a non-problem wasn't necessary.

My apologies that we didn't have this information up as well, we will strive to do better. As you know, the people who generously donate their time listening to scanners have full-time jobs as well so we aren't always listening and if we aren't alerted to the information by other sources in a timely fashion, then we will unfortunately miss posting about some incidents. We are always happy to have more volunteers offer their time and effort, so please PM me if you are interested!

If you ever see anything on the roads after traveling, you are also more than welcome to post it on our Traffic, Cams, and Road Conditions thread - that's what it's there for! Thanks!

Can't speak for anyone else but all DSV scanner monitors were unable to post from their locations.
Did hear about it on the radio and made some adjustments. Didn't seem to be a big deal though.
SC....no need to apologize. None of us can be around 24/7
I know we are working on being able to post from more locations but time and funds and jobs do slow that down a bit.
Perhaps whine should download the radio reference app for his phone so that he could help inform the public.

Thank you for letting us know Becky, I'd figured that was the case. Can you remind me what that app was again? I've been meaning to get it added to mine and just keep forgetting to search for it.

Just so you all know, I will always apologize for not providing what I consider the best possible service. It's important to me that the community be as informed as possible, and my goal is that you can find all of the information needed in as few of places as possible so you don't have to waste time clicking around like I did yesterday. I'm working on multiple solutions to fill in the gaps that I know we have and won't rest until we aren't missing anything. Thank you for your patience til we get there!

It says scanner radio on my phone. I just searched for online scanners in my app store. The icon should look like a little scanner radio.
That is the app that uses radio reference as it's source.
I was with a customer at the time so i could not listen. As I said...I heard about it on the radio on the way to my next appointment. By the time I made it up the hill.....the accident had been cleared.
JF was in Bailey all day without a pc. Everyone else was at work.
The app works pretty well. there is a free and pay service.

edited to add.....I have tried to find this app for my IPAD without success so for those with an I Phone....I am unsure what an alternative would be.
