What are you doing to get ready for the Winter?

Its just around the corner. Here comes the white stuff.

I've been cutting some wood but probably don't have enough. Some maintenance on the vehicles and some light outside maintenance like gutters and chimney. Uggh I hate winter. I think I'll be spending time down the hill soon, in a nice warm Pub! LOL

Raking & bagging leaves, pruning my roses and other flowers, tying up my raspberries, cranking the fountain up to full flow so it doesn't freeze over. Haven't gotten to pulling everything out of the garden yet and adding compost so it can equilibrate over the winter. Ugh.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I just like being ready, don't like working on the vehicles in the winter. Chopping wood is ok though, good exercise in the winter. I hate not being able to ride my motorcycles. That's all.

I like it- you know why? In summer everybody in my family is out and about while in winter its dark at 4:30pm and everybody's home together.

I guess if I had no family, id hate it too

Why do you live here Joe? And don't say your nieces and nephews, thats not family

I love Colorado, that's why Birdbrain! Its snowing now! Whohooo! I still like warm weather for outside activities. You bail out and go to Florida and Vegas, what are you talking about?

I think I am going to learn how to brew beer this winter if I don't get a job. I got a new brewing kit but I hate cooking LOL

Cleaned and mounted the heated birdbath.
Cleaned the electric water bowl for the dogs.
Chased the mice out of the doghouse and remounted the insulation and storm flap. (it's a realbig doghouse with heated mats).
Waxed the shovel.
Tested roof and gutter deicing cables.
Filled the kindling box and then some. (I stopped by a few homes being built in El Rancho and scored tons of safe to burn cut-offs for kindling.)
Winterized one of the vehicles so far.
Still gotta call my cord wood guy.

Wood splitting I hate it so we wait until the last minute.

Changed the tires on the car

Plow on the quad

Tested the snowblower and generator

Got the snow shovels out of the back of the shed (believe me this is a scary thing)

Sit back and enjoy the white stuff.
