What are you doing to get ready for the Winter?

The wood is cut, just need to split it. That may be a day by day activity for the rest of the year.

Got new snow tires on the car, but didnt get to test them out today since the drivers door froze open. :faint:

Put the bubble wrap on the hoophouse (again) and planted the garlic.

Found the snow shovels and put one by the barn, and one by the gate. (I don't shovel anything unless it's for the pacas or to get the gate open.

Had the chimney cleaned - Thanks Neptune Chimney!

Brought the fish in.

I'm ready. Bring on winter.

Very cool! Franz and I just spent 2 weeks in French Polynesia and it was so beautiful. Truthfully no matter where we go I can't wait to come home. lol Hope you enjoy the Cook Islands and safe travels. Here is a pic from our over the water bungalow in Bora Bora. The color of the water is amazing over there! Ok, I'm going to have to figure out again how to upload an image. Grrr....

Same here, I have all the wood sawed up but I split it as needed, good exercise. I have about a 2-week supply split in the garage, nice and dry. I'm thinking either San Diego or Florida maybe for a get away.

Board waxed boots out, slopes need more snow.

Log splitter? That's no fun, nothing like swinging the ol axe! :)
Actually, love to have a log splitter but they are hard to find used.

And one more thing, don't forget the furnace filter!

I cannot be trusted with overly sharp objects, so have to use a log splitter. I really enjoy it, actually, when the weather is crisp. We've got several cords covered so I won't have to do any more this fall unless I happen to be in the mood

And log splitters are lots of fun. Gas powered! My third favorite "toy".
